Fewer words.
Bigger letters.
The same screen can hold a huge greeting or a longer instruction in smaller text.
HELLO!
TABLE 12
WELCOME!
MEET ME OUTSIDE
BACK IN 5 MINUTES
LOOK OVER HERE
Get a message across without shouting.
Show a name across a room so someone knows who you're looking for. Hold up a table number to help a friend find you.
When a room is too noisy to talk, display a short instruction like MEET ME OUTSIDE. A message such as BACK IN 5 MINUTES can tell someone what they need to know at a glance.
Make it easy to read from a distance.
- Shorter text can be bigger
- Fewer words leave more room for larger letters and make a message quicker to recognize. Keep the name, number, or instruction that matters most.
- Portrait or landscape?
- Portrait can work well for short names or stacked messages. Landscape gives longer text more horizontal space. Choose the orientation that fits your words.
- Contrast matters
- Bright text against a dark background is usually easy to notice. Choose a clear color and style so the words stand out.
- Static or scrolling?
- Static is useful when someone needs to read the complete message immediately. Scrolling helps longer messages fit and adds motion. Scrolling is available free; static mode is included with the optional one-time Pro upgrade.
How do I display static fullscreen text on iPhone?
Open SayItBig!, enter a short message and choose static mode with Pro. Select a readable font, size, text color and background, then tap Play for fullscreen display. The words stay in place instead of moving horizontally. Static mode requires the optional one-time Pro upgrade; the core scrolling experience is free.
Start with one piece of information. “HELLO,” “ANNA,” “TABLE 12” or “PLEASE WAIT” can each stand alone. A phone sign is easiest to understand when the reader does not need to decide which part of a long paragraph matters. Preview the whole message before showing it.
When is scrolling unnecessary?
If the complete message fits at a readable size, movement may add waiting time without adding useful information. A person looking for a table number needs the number immediately. Someone walking past a desk may only glance at a notice once. Static text keeps the answer visible throughout that glance.
For a longer welcome, scrolling may give individual words more room. Try removing extra wording first: “BACK IN 5 MINUTES” is clearer than a full explanation of why you stepped away. If the shorter version fits, keeping it still may serve the reader better.
What does high contrast mean for my message?
The lettering should stand apart from its background. Try light text on black or a dark color on white, then compare the result in the actual light around you. SayItBig! includes text colors and black or white backgrounds. Pro adds premium fonts and more visual styles, but an elaborate effect is not necessary for a clear instruction.
Look at the display from where your reader will be. Reflections, viewing angle and distance can change how easy the letters are to distinguish. Adjust brightness for the room rather than assuming the highest setting is always appropriate, especially in darker spaces.
Can I use an iPad instead of my iPhone?
Yes. SayItBig! supports both devices and both portrait and landscape display. An iPad has more physical screen space for a name or temporary desk notice. An iPhone is convenient for a message you show briefly while moving between places. Choose based on the reader's distance and how you will hold or position the device.
A screen is a temporary visual message, not a guarantee that someone will notice it. For a longer display session, check battery charge and use a stable position. You do not need an account to make a message, and there are no ads or subscriptions. Save favorite phrases as presets if you expect to use them again.
Your words, fullscreen.
Use SayItBig! to fill your iPhone or iPad screen with huge text. Show huge fullscreen text, choose colors and visual styles, and let the message scroll or stay static. Scrolling is free, with an optional one-time Pro upgrade for static mode and more styles. No ads. No subscription.
