How can my friend find me in a crowd?

Agree on a recognizable meeting point, then use a short phone sign to help them identify you when they are looking nearby. SayItBig! can display a person's name, “I'M HERE” or a more specific message fullscreen. Free scrolling moves the words across your iPhone or iPad; the optional one-time Pro upgrade includes static text.

The sign is most useful after your friend knows where to look. A message on your screen does not share your location or notify their phone. If they are elsewhere in the venue, contact them normally first and describe a meeting point. Once they can see the area, a few large words may help them pick you out.

What should I put on the screen?

Use wording that makes sense from your friend's position. “I'M BY THE EXIT” tells them where you are, while “LOOK LEFT” gives a direction if you both understand which way they are facing. Their name can make it obvious that the message is intended for them. “LOOK OVER HERE” works only if they already notice the display.

Choose a landmark that is distinctive. If there are several doors, “MAIN EXIT” is clearer than “EXIT.” If you are near a numbered table, show “TABLE 12.” A vague “OVER HERE” can be hard to act on when the person is scanning a wide room.

A sign should have one job at a time. Start with “ANNA” to attract the right person's attention, then show “BY THE MAIN EXIT” if you need to clarify. A long message combining a name, a direction and an explanation can be harder to read when people are moving in front of the screen.

Should the meeting message stay still?

For a short name or landmark, static text is often the simplest option. Your friend can read the complete phrase as soon as they glance toward you. In SayItBig!, static mode requires Pro. Keep the letters large and test whether the words fit comfortably before holding up the phone.

Free scrolling can show a longer phrase without reducing every letter to fit the whole sentence. Slow the movement so your friend can follow it, especially if they may see only part of the screen between other people. If they miss the beginning, allow another complete pass.

Try shortening the phrase first. “MAIN EXIT” may communicate the meeting point more clearly than “I AM STANDING OVER HERE BY THE MAIN EXIT.” The big fullscreen text guide explains why fewer words often work better when someone needs a quick answer.

How do I make the sign easier to spot?

Choose a clear text color and a contrasting black or white background. SayItBig!'s free scrolling mode includes the classic LED font and size, speed and direction controls. Pro offers static mode, bigger text and premium styles, but elaborate effects are not necessary for a useful meeting sign.

Landscape gives longer wording more horizontal space; portrait may be easier for a short name. Both are supported on iPhone and iPad. Hold the display facing the direction your friend is approaching from rather than angled toward yourself. Adjust brightness for the surrounding light and check for reflections.

If possible, test the message with another person at a comparable distance. A readable sign beside you may be too small farther away. An iPad has more physical display area, but is less convenient to carry through a busy venue. Neither device can make a message visible through people or other obstructions.

Where does this work well?

A phone sign can be useful near a festival meeting point, beside a table in a busy bar or in a crowded airport hall. It also fits a noisy event where your friend is visible but calling across the room is difficult. See the crowds and noisy places guide for brief instructions that can replace another shouted sentence.

For someone arriving from a flight, the airport pickup sign guide focuses on names, welcomes and choosing a visible waiting position. In any setting, agree where to meet and stay out of walkways while typing or showing the message.

Will it guarantee that my friend notices me?

No. A person still needs to look toward your screen and be close enough to read it. A sign supplements an agreed meeting plan; it does not track friends, confirm they have seen you or provide a safety guarantee. If it is not working, use direct contact and a clearer meeting point.

You do not need an account to use SayItBig!, and there are no ads or subscriptions. Save common meeting phrases as presets if you expect to reuse them, then check that each message describes your actual position before displaying it.

Make your message fullscreen.
